Patterned Paper Series

Patterned Paper Series | Day 1 of 5 | Paper Piecing with Lawn Fawn’s Plus One

Welcome!  So I thought I would try paper piecing to kick off my patterned paper series for this month.  I used mostly Lawn Fawn products, but did bring in patterned paper from a pack from Hobby Lobby and a paper set from Love From Lizi.  There is a lot of inspiration out there for paper piecing, so I was excited to get started after looking into others projects.

After looking through my stamp collection, I decided to go with Lawn Fawn Plus One stamp set and dies to create these three little baby cards.  The cards measure 4 1/4″ x 4″ when scored and folded.  Perfect size to attach to a gift!

12 Days of Christmas Tags

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2016 | Day 7 of 12 | Lawn Fawn’s Oh Snap!

For day 7 of my tag series, I used this adorable Lawn Fawn stamp set called, Oh Snap!  I also used Lawn Fawn’s Bokeh patterned paper.  These tags were really quick and offer a little sense of humor that would look nice tied to any gift.  These were super easy to put together which is something I always love!  To see the process video, click here

Holiday Series 2016

2016 Holiday Card Series | Day 13 of 25 | Simon Says Stamp Create Joy Die Set

Happy Monday!  Today I used this intricate Simon Says Stamp Create Joy die to create these pretty little cards.  Like I said in the video, if you happen to work with this die, make sure you have patience.  Whew!  The die is lovely but does take some time (did I say patience).

I used Lawn Fawn paper and some ribbon in my stash to finish up the cards.  My card bases are 5×5 which is a lovely change to the regular card sizes we use.

Holiday Series 2016

2016 Holiday Card Series | Day 2 of 25 | CAS-ual Friday and Hero Arts Snowflake Card

Welcome to day 2 of my holiday series.  Today I wanted to do a snowflake card with some blues and purple distress ink.  I got my color inspiration from a card I saw online and I really like how the colors blended and turned out.

I used Lawn Fawn’s Put a Bow on It to create a bow which was not my original plan, but turned out pretty cute.  I used the same glitter paper to create the snowflakes.

Fall 2016 Fall Series

Fall 2016 Card Series | Day 8 of 10 | Lawn Fawn Happy Harvest

Hello you guys!  Welcome to day 8 in my fall card series.  We are nearing the end and even though I previously did a card with a scarecrow, I could not pass up using adorable Lawn Fawn stamp set.  Instead of using my go to with my Zig markers or Distress Inks, I busted out some Prismacolors I just recently purchased.  They happened to be on a pile of junk at Wal-Mart in the craft section with a big yellow sticker marking them at $10.00 for a 24 count.  I couldn’t pass them up as I have been eyeing them for a while.

I colored all my images with the Prismacolors and blended using Gamsol Mineral Spirits.  I am in love!!  The pencils are already so creamy and blending with the Gamsol was so easy and smooth.  I definitely like this alternative when I don’t want to use watercolors or my Zig Markers.  One day I will get Copics, but until then these are the next best thing in my opinion and much more cost effective!

Fall 2016 Fall Series

Fall 2016 Card Series | Day 6 of 10 | Lawn Fawn Thanks a Bushel

Welcome to day 6 of my fall card series.  Today I used Lawn Fawns adorable Thanks a Bushel stamp set and coordinating die.  I paired it with Pebbles Woodland Forest which has some adorable patterned paper.

To color the apples I used my Zig Clean Color Markers on some Bristol Smooth Card Stock.  I finished off the card with some natural twine and glossy accents on the apple next to the sentiment.  Cute and simple!
